Build Your own Assassin’s Creed Rope Launcher

Build Your own Assassin’s Creed Rope Launcher

If you still think Ezio Auditore is the building scaling master, you don’t know jack; or Jacob, for that matter. Jacob Frye can make short work of tall structures in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate thanks to his trusty rope launcher. Every game in which you spend a lot of time exploring should come with some version of a rope launcher; it’s what gives the Arkham and Just Cause games such a sense of freedom.

If you want to do some exploring in the real world, you’ll need to build your own wrist-mounted rope launcher. Luckily, inventor Colin Furze has built a working model of his own and has graciously produced a couple of videos to show you how you can put together this indispensable, every-day-useful tool yourself.

Neighbor put up a fence to keep you from watching his wife go swimming? Scale that puppy with your rope launcher. Trouble getting up in the morning? Hook a closet rack with your rope launcher and pull yourself out of bed like a winner. Cereal box out of arm’s reach from where you’re sitting comfortably? Shoot it with your rope launcher and retract the hook to pull back the bits of cereal that spill to the floor. Once you spend some time with your rope launcher, you’ll wonder how you ever went without one.
