Officials in Dubai are looking to curb software pirating in their country by seizing over 48,000 counterfeit PlayStation games. An individual caught at the Dubai International Airport was trying to smuggle these games into the country, but when the phony software was detected, customs officials seized the games, which were estimated to be worth about $1.3 million. May El Husseiny of Sony Gulf’s PlayStation division was informed of the seizure, and applauded the action, as it would have certainly impacted sales in the region.
