Yet another Overwatch fan-favorite character is making their debut in Heroes of the Storm , Blizzard’s MOBA game. D.Va is here! Which is appropriate, as the character is an esports star. A Spotlight video on the official Heroes of the Storm YouTube channel goes over all her powers, as well as strategies for playing as and against her.
D.Va retains all her powers from her original haunt, the team-based, FPS Overwatch . She has her infamous mech suit, equipped with its automatic shotguns, shields, boosters, and self-destruct ability. D.Va herself has bonus survivability in her on-foot mode, as well as a few unique abilities to make her a viable character in that state as well.
D.Va is not a hugely mobile character in either game, and her MOBA style seems to be about drawing fire and controlling space. Her self-destruct has a long build-up time, but can be used in ways to force opponents to take actions.
When D.Va’s out of her mech, she doesn’t have much life, but her offensive capabilities are increased. With the right strategy, she can do a ton of damage and get back into her more tank-like mech without rewarding her opponents too many experience points.
