Dark Souls: Remastered Will Fix Blighttown

Dark Souls: Remastered Will Fix Blighttown

Dark Souls was a beautiful game with a brilliantly realized world, an emotionally engaging atmosphere, and a level of difficulty that was rewarding to its fans. Inside the game was a place named Blighttown which could have been a contender for best locale had it not been impeded by low frame rates. In the future, we should see a better realized version of Blighttown.

Videos of the upcoming remaster, aptly titled Dark Souls: Remastered , shows combat within Blighttown and it appears fluid. The team at Digital Foundry analyzed Blighttown specifically for these reasons and reported positively on their experiences.

This is one of the best reasons to remaster a game – to fix issues that were present in the original. Beyond that, it’s not like hardcore Dark Souls fans need much of an excuse to run another couple dozen playthroughs in one of the most iconic games from the prior generation of consoles. The remaster will be available on May 25 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One while the Nintendo Switch version has been delayed.
