The Xbox One continues to make strides in improving itself and adapting to exactly what gamers want out of a next-gen console. Now, it seems there are even more improvements on the horizon, ones that a developer teases are “interesting” to say the least.
Dean Hall, creator of the game DayZ , revealed in a recent interview that the company has been courting him in an attempt to bring a console version of his game over from the PC. After meeting with Microsoft, Hall reveals what he learned and how new developments have enticed him enough to seriously consider the jump. “…there’s some really interesting and exciting things happening. That was one of the cool things about meeting with Microsoft. There were definitely some things they said that I’m not allowed to talk about that I was like, ‘Wow! That’s interesting. Why don’t you tell people that?’ But I guess they want to make sure everything all goes together and that.” He says.
While Hall states that we won’t see any real movement toward DayZ jumping to consoles before the end of 2014 (which could potentially mean a move to the PlayStation as well), he did say the full version of the game will go live by middle of next-year. Interestingly enough, he also says that when finished, it could end up being a very different game than what people are currently expecting. “It could even be fundamentally different. As some of these new features come on–even some of the things we introduce now–it suddenly changes the whole way the game’s played.” Hall reveals.
A beta is expected in the coming months and CheatCC will keep you posted.
