GamePolitics has been covering the escapades of Jack Thompson ever since he made it his personal mission to get gaming curtailed.  The former-lawyer-turned-lobbyist has had his fair share of disappointments (namely being disbarred for conduct un becoming a lawyer), but today his has gotten a victory.

GamePolitics reports, “Following a lively debate, the Utah State Senate has passed HB 353 by a 25-4 margin.”  This bill was originally fashioned by Jack Thompson, but has sice undergone changes in the state senate which now must be approved by the house by midnight – likely a formality, considering it passed in its original form 70-2.

In case you haven’t followed HB 353, it’s a bill that seeks to place harsh penalties upon retailers that sell M rated video games.
