Don’t Buy into Fake Overwatch Beta Keys

Don’t Buy into Fake Overwatch Beta Keys

We’re in the midst of a good news, bad news situation when it comes to the launch of Blizzard’s Overwatch beta. The good news is, the beta has begun! People who opted in to attempt to take part in the beta might find their Battle.net accounts are now authorized to begin downloading and playing the game. Though only a small number of players are being allowed to play in this initial phase, it is still possible to show your interest and be considered for a spot.

The bad news is, some people are capitalizing on the hype by distributing fradulent Overwatch beta keys. Blizzard warned about this behavior on Twitter , reminding people that beta keys are not being distributed for this phase. If you don’t receive authorization and an Overwatch beta license in your Battle.net account, you aren’t in.

Overwatch is a first person, tactical shooter. There’s no nondisclosure agreements in play, so people are able to talk about their experiences and share video. It is a beta, however, and this isn’t a finished product, so keep that in mind if you encounter bugs and errors. An official launch date has yet to be announced.
