E3 2009: Konami Announces Metal Gear Solid: Rising for Xbox 360

E3 2009: Konami Announces Metal Gear Solid: Rising for Xbox 360

None

I am the first to admit I was getting fed up with Konami’s handling of the tease-marketing campaign behind the next Metal Gear Solid title.

Now it all seems like a distant memory, as Kojima himself (sans respirator mask) snuck on to the stage at the Microsoft press event and announced that Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be coming to the Xbox 360.

As interesting as that nugget of info was, we were expecting some more hard details concerning the scope of the new title.  Alas, all we really know is that Raiden will be the game’s featured playable character. That’s just about what we knew last week.  The name’s pretty sweet, though.

Press Release:

El Segundo, Calif. – June 1, 2009 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., announced today that Metal Gear Solid: Rising is currently in development for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft – the first Metal Gear Solid game to launch on the Xbox 360®.
