Elder Scrolls Online Free to Play This Weekend

Elder Scrolls Online Free to Play This Weekend

Suddenly, I’m very interested in giving The Elder Scrolls Online a try. I don’t know, there’s just something about playing that game that deeply appeals to me and I’m not sure why. At any rate, I’ll be giving it a go this weekend for free, and you can too if you have a capable PC or an Xbox One. Bethesda is letting you download and play The Elder Scrolls Online for free starting tomorrow, and continuing on through Monday until around 3 AM EST. At first glance it would seem like this was some kind of exclusive deal with Microsoft, being available only for PCs and Xbox One, but it turns out that Bethesda / Zenimax had some technical issues offering the game for free on PS4 because of some hang-ups with PlayStation Plus.

If you think that The Elder Scrolls Online isn’t the game for you, you may want to reconsider and give it a try anyway. Bethesda is holding a special drawing for ESO players with a grand prize of $1 million USD. All you have to do to enter is register an ESO account and play the game anytime from now until January 8. Guess what? Playing this weekend in the free trial does count and will put you in the drawing to win what will end up being $50,000 a year for 20 years, interest-free. If this is all a stunt to get people to play the game, it’s working; I’m downloading this joint tomorrow.
