Though the ESRB has come under fire from time to time for its rating choices, no one can argue that the ratings board is an instrumental tool for parents to use when deciding whether to buy Mario or Madhouse for their young children. Though video game ratings are already prominently displayed on video game packaging, not all rating details are given in the small display box.  However, now the ESRB has released an App on the iOS platform (iPod, iPhone, iPad) that allows parents to search for detailed rating information on any current or upcoming title (with rating information) by either searching for the game by name or by scanning barcodes. This app is available now for free through Apple’s App Store. |
