Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Celebration Starts January 31

Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Celebration Starts January 31

Hey, Final Fantasy and I share a birth year! We both turn 30 in 2017, and Square Enix has seen fit to throw a celebration in our honor. The company has a wealth of plans for Final Fantasy next year, which they will be announcing at an “Opening Ceremony” event on January 31.

It all goes down at the Toho Cinema in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo. Square Enix will host a talk event with special guests and outline their upcoming Final Fantasy projects for the coming year. Here’s hoping one of those is the rumored “Anniversary Collection” featuring Final Fantasy I IX on a single disc. It’d be amazing to have everything (save XI , sadly) playable on a single console.

If, for whatever reason, you’re reading this article from Japan and have a Japanese Square Enix Members account, you can register for a chance to attend the event here . In the meantime, feel free to reminisce about the series with the most recent 30th anniversary trailer below.
