16 years ago, a great Final Fantasy game was released. Final Fantasy IX debuted on the PlayStation, bringing concepts like crystals and classes back to the series after they were cast aside from the seventh and eighth installments. It was refreshing and wonderful, but remains one of the few entries to not receive multiple ports. That changes in 2016.
Square Enix has announced the Windows PC, iOS, and Android ports of Final Fantasy IX . So far, all we have is confirmation of a Japanese release. However, the official Japanese website also offers all of the English release information.

Final Fantasy IX will be the thirteenth Final Fantasy game to be ported to PC. Given that most recent ports have had near simultaneous worldwide releases, hopefully we’ll see this entry almost everywhere at once.
