Final Fantasy XV Coming September 30, Two Special Editions Detailed

Some of you, thanks to Gamespot, have known the release date for Final Fantasy XV since yesterday afternoon. Someone over there pulled the trigger prematurely and published a wrap-up video from the Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event hours before it even aired. That was a bit of a buzzkill for sure, but the show was still well worth watching. At any rate, Gamespot was right about the release date, and the game will finally be coming out on September 30 of this year.

If you’re a big fan, you’ll want to look into the deluxe edition, which will come in a decorated steel case and includes the full-length movie Kingsglaive on Blu-ray. The deluxe edition is going for $90, and will also score you some extra DLC (a car recolor and an extra costume). If you’re an ultra fan, you might opt for the Ultimate Collector’s Edition. This bundle will set you back $270, and comes with all of the Deluxe Edition goodies plus Brotherhood , a six-part anime prequel, the soundtracks to Brotherhood, Kingsglaive, and FFXV, and a Play Arts Noctis figurine. You’ll also get a boatload of DLC and in-game items with the Ultimate Collector’s Edition, so if you want it, you better head to the Square Enix store and get on that waitlist; they’re only producing 30,000 of these puppies.
