Like all The Sims games, the main goal of The Sims 3: Pets is to help your Sims live the lives you want them to. The Sims 3: Pets adds a variety of animal-related goals and items to the game. Not only can you fully customize cats and dogs instead of using generic models, but you can adopt other animals as well. Look out for horses, a variety of small pets (including lizards, snakes, turtles, and birds), and even unicorns.

The Sims 3: Pets Cheat Codes
All of the games in the Sims series are full of cheat codes, and the Sims 3 expansion packs each come with their own cheats as well.
The Sims 3: Pets Cheat Codes for Desktop
To activate or deactivate the cheat menu in the desktop versions of The Sims 3, press Control-Shift-C (or Command-Shift-C on Mac). Then enter the following text into the box that appears. A few of our favorite cheats include:
- help: shows all available cheat codes
- kaching: gives you 1,000 Simoleons
- motherlode: gives you 50,000 Simoleons
- moviemakercheatsenabled true: enable Movie Maker mode
- moviemakercheatsenabled false: disable Movie Maker mode
In addition, you can enter “testingcheatsenabled true” into the cheat menu, then hold the Shift key to enable a menu. This enables you to delete any object, change your active Sim, force visitors and events, and even create a unicorn pet. The code “testingcheatsenabled false” will turn this menu back off.
The Sims 3: Pets Cheat Codes for Mobile
Because the mobile editions of The Sims 3 don’t have a cheat menu, your options are far more limited on these platforms. However, if you press the “…” menu in the bottom left corner of your screen during gameplay, tap “Help” and then “About,” and then go to “Gardening Tips” and shake your phone, you can get free Simoleons.
The Sims 3: Pets Cheat Codes for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360
The PlayStation version of The Sims 3: Pets offers a cheat code as well. Start out in your selected lot, and activate the cheat code by pressing the following keys. The combination is different for both platforms.
- PlayStation 3: Press the Start button. Then press R1, R2, L1, and L2 at the same time.
- Xbox 360: From the Pause menu, press LT, LB, RT, and RB at the same time.
Once you’ve activated the menu, press “Accept.” Then go to the “Buy” section of your Build and Buy menu. In the “Decor”/”Misc.” category, select “Spoot, the Magic Llama” and place Spoot on your lot. Get your Sim to select Spoot and choose from a huge selection of tricks and bonuses.
