At PAX Prime this weekend, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata announced that Square-Enix will be holding a major Final Fantasy event in March 2015. At the event, he said Square will finally be ready to announce the release date for Final Fantasy XV . They will also announce development on several other smaller titles.
Tabata confirmed that the game will certainly release sometime in 2016, but that’s all we know at this point. If I were to take a guess, we will likely see the game hit store shelves sometime around Holiday 2016, if its release date will be revealed in March.
More information about the game and its development will be given through small events and live streams leading up to the major announcement. However, no further details could be given.
