Gameplay Details Revealed for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’s Rise Kujikawa

Rise Kujikawa is the newest character to be announced in the upcoming Persona 4 Arena sequel, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax . Rise was a non-combatant in the first game, but now she takes to the battlefield. A recent trailer and article in Famitsu has revealed some details about her move-set, which gives us a small idea of how she plays.

Rise seems to be best described as a zoner. She attacks with a microphone stand which has a lot of range and can scatter note projectiles around the stage to control space. One of her supers allows her to be surrounded by note projectiles as she moves, a lot like Rose’s soul satellite from Street Fighter . She also seems to have the ability to charm the opponent, making them harder to control as she continues to set up her projectile walls.

There were only, arguably, two Zoners in the original cast of Persona 4 Arena , Yukiko and Naoto. However, there are a lot of Zoners being added to the cast, like Yukari and now Rise. Now we just have to wait to see how Ken Amada plays, but in Persona 3 he used a spear so we may see yet another Zoner enter the cast.
