Edge Online is reporting that they have third-party confirmation that Gears of War 3 is slated to launch in April of 2011. “Microsoft will launch Gears of War 3 in early April 2011,” according to “a trusted US publishing source,” the Edge article reveals. We should be able to test the reliability of their source in just a few weeks, as Edge also states that the first cinematic trailer will be launched on April 8, 2010. If the scuttlebutt pans out, perhaps the impending trailer marks the one year countdown. April 8, 2011 is a Friday, after all, and while Tuesday seems to be the preferred launch day for AAA titles, Friday in April will better fit working gamers’ busy schedules – here’s to hoping!
