Metal Gear Online to be Premièred Soon

In what may be considered a surprising announcement for some, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima will be attending this year’s The Game Awards event to premiere Metal Gear Online to the world. The event’s producer, Geoff Keighley (a renowned games journalist), revealed this over twitter last week, saying that the premiere itself will occur when the event starts this coming Friday.

For those who don’t know, this new iteration of Metal Gear Online is believed to be bundled as the online component for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain . The previous iteration was exclusive to the PlayStation 3, which came as part of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots when it was launched back in 2008. This Metal Gear Online was also available as a standalone product on the PlayStation Network until its North American and European servers were shut down in 2012.

Not much is known about the new Metal Gear Online , and even more is not known on how this online component will be presented–gameplay trailer and / or demo? Those wanting to know will have to wait until later on this week to find out.

Keighley’s The Game Awards event will be taking place in Las Vegas on Friday, December 5. We’ll bring you more news on this should further information reach our ears.
