GOG Using Two-Step Login and HTTPS

GOG Using Two-Step Login and HTTPS

Does seeing that little lock next to a URL make you feel all safe and protected? Well, GOG is giving you the digital equivalent of a hug. The game distributor will be offering extra security for all users’ accounts in the form of two-step logins and HTTPS.

GOG’s two-step login sounds like it isn’t too intrusive. You can choose to implement the security measure on your Login & Security setting page when logged into your account. When you log into the site from a new location, computer, or browser, GOG will email you a 4-character security code to ensure you’re really you. It debuts alongside an ability to log yourself out of all sessions at once.

The other measure is offering HTTPS on GOG everywhere. Before, it was only a GOG Galaxy thing, but now it’s being rolled out on every area of GOG. When you’re logged in, everything will be completely secure.

So next time you use GOG, know that you’ll have less chance of having any important information slip into the wrong hands.
