How to Use the “Free Real Estate” Cheat in Sims 4

Millions of fans play The Sims 4 for a chance to build the perfect life for their characters. The simulation game offers a myriad of customization options. You can modify every aspect of your Sims’ existence, from their wardrobe to their way of life. The Sims 4 is also rich with expansions. For an added fee, you can take your Sims on all manner of bizarre adventures. Expansions can lead to things like encountering supernatural creatures or going to college. While the game has received some criticism for offering so much DLC at such a high fee, many fans still relish the freedom and creativity that The Sims 4 allows them.

One of the biggest draws of The Sims 4’s customization is its houses. The game lets you decorate your Sims’ homes and furnish them with everything they need to live a rich, satisfying life. Some players even take the game’s housing system further. These fans build and furnish incredibly creative dream homes, or replicate beloved fictional locations in-game. Just like in real life, however, obtaining and building elaborate new homes for your Sim is an expensive prospect. The Free Real Estate cheat is a major boon for enthusiastic Sims fans who just want to build homes. Here’s what you need to know about using this cheat in-game.

Unlike most modern video games, The Sims 4 has official cheat codes that players are actually encouraged to experiment with. The game boasts a built-in cheat console fans can use to enter codes, similar to the command consoles present in some open-world games. Using the cheat console, you can teleport Sims around, unlock items you shouldn’t have access to, and flood your bank account with Simoleons, the in-game currency. The Free Real Estate code is one of the options in the console. After you’ve turned it on, you can move your Sim into any residential lot in the game without paying a dime. This opens up countless real estate opportunities across the entire map and lets you select the perfect spot for your Sim to get their life started without worrying about the price tag.

How To Use The Free Real Estate Cheat

To use the Free Real Estate cheat, you’ll first have to activate the cheat console. To do this on a PC, hold the Control key (or Command on a Mac) and Shift, then press C. The cheat console can also be activated on Xbox and PlayStation consoles by holding down all four shoulder buttons. That said, not all cheat codes that work on PCs are available on consoles. You should proceed carefully if you’re playing on one of these systems. On PC, once you’ve got the cheat console open, just type in “FreeRealEstate On” and hit enter. If you want to turn off the code later, type “FreeRealEstate Off” instead.

It should be noted that while this cheat will give you access to any and every available residential lot in the game without charge, it won’t work if there’s already a family living in the home you want to claim. Even with the cheat code enabled, you will be limited to unoccupied houses and residential lots. In spite of this limitation, however, the Free Real Estate cheat is still a massively helpful code that should give you a lot more options when it comes to crafting the house of your dreams.
