While we already found out the Kinect peripheral will be unable to understand American Sign Language, it apparently will be able to discern magic spell casting. This is according to the press release for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows – Part 1. Apparently, Potter’s upcoming adventure will have Kinect specific challenges that will allow one or two players to cast their spells using gestures rather than a controller. In the press release, Jonathan Bunney, Vice President and Head of Production at EA Bright Light Studios, states “Our Kinect challenges allow players to literally cast magic from the palm of their hand, completely controller free, to enhance and deepen the overall play experience; and, even better, we have enabled a special co-op mode with Kinect allowing two people to fight Death Eaters side-by-side for the first time in any Harry Potter game.” |
