Heroes of the Storm is getting even more Overwatch with the addition of Genji. He’s available in beta form starting today. He isn’t the only addition, as he comes with Hanamura, his home turf. There’s no public release date for Genji or Hanamura yet, but they’re still available in beta currently.
The Heroes of the Storm version of Genji is an assassin class character, of course. Just as he does in Overwatch, here he has extra mobility, his basic shuriken attack, and Deflect and Switch Strike abilities. His Dragonblade ultimate returns as well. What’s new to the Heroes of the Storm version of Genji is a new heroic ability, X-Strike. It deals massive amounts of damage in (you guessed it) an x-shape.
The map being added to Heroes of the Storm , Genji’s childhood home of Hanamura, is the game’s first payload-centric map. There are multiple payload carts available on the map at one time. Players have to push theirs to the other side in order to deal damage to their opponents’ core.
