- Funky Kong: This easygoing mechanic runs Funky’s Rental where Dixie and Kiddy can rent different watercraft vehicles like the Turbo Ski. In the Game Boy Advance version he has four minigames. If players beat all four, they get a Banana Bird.
- Swanky Kong: This vibrant entrepreneur wears dazzling suits. In the SNES version, he runs Swanky’s Sideshow, a circus-themed minigame. Players can win Bear Coins and banana bunches. Competing costs Bear Coins. Both Dixie and Kiddy Kong can play. In the Game Boy Advance version he runs Swanky’s Dash, an auto-runner minigame only Dixie Kong can play. - Cranky Kong: This cranky elder appears in Swanky’s Sideshow for the SNES version and competes against players in the minigames. He also appears in both versions of the game at the end to criticize Dixie and Kiddy over their victory. After the end-game cutscene, he can also be seen in the background doing water-skiing tricks. In the Game Boy Advance version he can be found in Cranky’s Dojo where players can play a dodging minigame to win a Banana Bird.
- The Brothers Bear: These thirteen bears provide the players with services in exchange for Bear Coins, like teleporting the player somewhere, a box of chocolates, a shell, and more. Each bear has a different name that starts with a B and their own unique appearance and personality.

- Secret Honks: When riding the Hover Craft, Motor Boat, or Turbo Ski on the map screen, hold X and press L+R at the exact same time and you’ll honk the first notes of some popular songs, one of them being La Cucaracha.

- Best Ending: To obtain the best ending in the game, you must collect every Bonus Coin in the game, every DK Coin, and every Banana Bird, and defeat the last boss in Krematoa.
- Reach Krematoa: To reach Krematoa (the Lost World), go to the four rocks east of Mekanos. Stay on the rocks as you circle around it clockwise about four times and the volcano will replace the rocks.
- Reach Pacifica: To reach the new exclusive Oceanic area, when you get the Turbo Ski go up the waterfall right where you started the game. Go up the waterfall after that and swim to the hidden world marked by a K. Rool Flag.
- Unlimited Bear Coins: Go to the Sunken Spruce level in Pacifica. After you get to the second Bonus level, go up and get the Bear Coin that’s by the Buzz, then go into the Bonus level. No matter if you win or lose, you’ll end up by the rope with the Bear Coin still there. Repeat this to get unlimited Bear Coins.
