Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, two esteemed storytellers and giants in their respective industries, will be coming together at the DICE Summit on February 18. The two are keynote speakers at the event and their conversation will be moderated by Geoff Keighley. Kojima and del Toro have a history together and were working together on a Silent Hill game before Konami canned it, so there are many rumors and much speculation as to what they might announce during the presentation. DICE describes the keynote thusly:
“In a session titled ‘A Conversation with Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro,’ these master storytellers will offer insight into their creative vision and the driving forces behind their artistic pursuits. Moderated by longtime video game host and producer Geoff Keighley, this conversation will revisit some of their fondest memories from their own individual careers as well as some of the pivotal moments from each other’s work that remain a constant source of inspiration.”
This could be an fascinating sneak peak into what Kojima has been up to since leaving Konami. We know that his newly reformed studio has been working on a secret project for the PlayStation 4, but we don’t know anything about it. DICE is a prestigious conference, but not as aggressively broadcast or attended as a PAX or E3. If they drop any serious knowledge bombs or make any big announcements, we’ll be sure to let you know.
