High Voltage's 'The Grinder' Coming to All Major Gaming Platforms

None

In an interview with IGN’s Matt Casamassina, High Voltage Software’s CEO Kerry Ganofsky and chief creative officer Eric Nofsinger announced that the company’s upcoming horror/monster shooter, The Grinder, will not be simply a Wii exclusive.

Instead, the game will launch on practically every major gaming platform including PS3, Xbox 360, PC, as well as Wii. Undoubtedly, lackluster sales of The Conduit forced the company to rethink its Wii exclusive focus. Plus, the company’s officers admit they want to branch out and show off to gamers at large.

Eric Nofsinger summed this up by stating, “Bringing our third internal IP to all the current-generation systems allows us to show off what our company can really do and get it into the hands of the most gamers.”

If you’re a Wii gamer, don’t worry too much, you’re not going to get short-shrift. High Voltage is doing everything they can to ensure that The Grinder is an even better experience on Wii than The Conduit was.

Kerry Ganofsky hinted at the craft going into the Wii side of the game: “Quantum 3 [HVS’s pioneering Wii development engine] has improved a lot since The Conduit’s release. We have some new announcements coming soon that leverage these improvements such as better lighting options. Our artists are very familiar with what the engine can and can’t do so the next round of Wii games from HVS takes full advantage of its power.”

The Grinder will get shown off, along with its platform-specific intricacies, at GDC 2010. Right now the game is scheduled for a Halloween 2011 release – a long way off yet. Enough time to get things right!
