Hudson Soft Closing

Hudson Soft Closing

None

Remember when Hudson Soft used to make games like Bomberman? Well, it looks like those days are officially coming to an end.

According to a Japanese filing recently translated by Andriasang, Hudson’s parent company Konami will be shutting down the studio for good. In case you don’t remember, Konami bought Hudson last year in order to develop mobile games. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Hudson’s franchises will cease to exist, as the company will be absorbed into Konami on March 1st, 2012. What it does mean, however, is that we won’t be seeing any more of that happy little bee logo.

Konami hasn’t revealed plans for Hudson’s franchises yet, and most of these franchises were put on the chopping block last year for a more focused assault on the casual and social gaming market. So what do you think will be the final fate of our beloved Bomberman? Will he have a new home at Konami, or is Hudson’s closing a sign of his end?
