Huge Story Mode, More Content for Street Fighter V Incoming

Capcom has given us a huge update on the impending Story Mode for Street Fighter V , which is something fans have been waiting for since the game came out in February. The update was very optimistic, and you should know that Story Mode is still on track to release later this month for free. What’s more, it seems more fleshed out than we expected it to be. The story expansion, called A Shadow Falls , will take you three to four hours to complete, according to Capcom. The story revolves around the evil Shadaloo organization, which has unleashed seven “Black Moons” that have given M. Bison incredible power and enveloped the world in darkness. It’s up to the World Warriors to put a stop to it.

All of the World Warriors, including DLC characters Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Urien, and Juri will be playable in A Shadow Falls for free. The latter three characters won’t be available in any other mode until Capcom officially releases them at a later date, as they still need balancing. Capcom said to think of them as “free previews” for now. Capcom is also doing away with its premium currency. If you want to buy additional content you can do so with Fight Money (FM) or real world money. No more funny business about buying bundles of premium Zenny. Here’s the breakdown for content cost:

  • New Stages: 70,000 FM/$4/€4
  • New Characters: 100,000 FM/$6/€6
  • Alternate Stages: 40,000 FM/$2/€2
  • Story Costumes: 40,000/$2/€2
  • Premium Costumes: $4/€4

Capcom also revealed that it’s working on revamped Daily Challenges in order to give players the opportunity to earn more FM as they play. Versus CPU and Extra Battle modes are also in the works. Good on you, Capcom: This game launched anemic and lacking, but you’re really trying to make up for it, and we appreciate that.
