Humble THQ Bundle Closes With Five Million Dollars In Sales

Humble THQ Bundle Closes With Five Million Dollars In Sales

The Humble THQ Bundle recently closed, bringing in over five million dollars in sales. Nearly 600,000 bundles were sold at an average price of $5.75. And while that doesn’t seem like much, it’s essentially extra money for THQ since all the games were digitally distributed.

Some of the highest contributors to the bundle were actually THQ executives. Newly appointed president Jason Rubin purchased the most expensive bundle at $10,000 dollars, as well as purchasing several other bundles at lesser values. THQ CEO Brian Farrel also paid $1,650 for one bundle.

These figures represent the money that the sales brought in, but not where the money is going. Purchasers of a humble bundle were able to choose how much of their money goes to developers, charity, or the humble bundle organization. The default split would leave THQ with most of the profits.

The Humble THQ Bundle was an astounding success for THQ and is an amazing idea for other publishers and developers who need to re-invigorate sales of their older games. Hopefully we will see some other humble bundles from companies like Activision or Capcom sometime soon.
