Is Crysis Going To Make Consoles Cry?

None

A spotting on the Korean Rating Board’s website has the first entry in Crytek’s graphical powerhouse first-person shooter, Crysis, slated for release on the Xbox 360. This, alone, would not be solid evidence for a port, much less a release in territories outside of Asia. That’s why it’s so telling that the ESRB, as well, has caught the torch. The ESRB’s website now has a listing for Crysis on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Furthermore, Korean gaming site Inven alleges that they have received confirmation of the port from EA Korea.

Earlier this year, Crytek boss Cevat Yerli dismissed the idea of a console port for the 2007 shooter. He said, “A port to consoles wouldn’t have been easier or cheaper necessarily and we always want to innovate and thus offer improved and refined gaming experiences.”

It appears that either Yerli—or a higher-up in EA—has had a change of heart.
