With Harry Potter’s 8-movie journey coming to an end in 3 weeks, fans around the world are clamoring for more adventures in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. And they are going to get their wish. Sort of. After a week of buildup, an owl-saturated countdown clock, and plenty of Internet speculation, “Pottermore” was finally revealed to be—wait for it—an online reading experience. In a video announcement, JK Rowling described it as a new “interactive” reading experience. You can explore new moments in the book, and Rowling has said there are several details about Harry Potter’s world that she has been “hoarding” over the years that will be revealed in the online world. Pottermore will also feature several user-created “spaces” that will help shape the online world of Harry Potter. Though this feature wasn’t really elaborated on, I would imagine it will be some sort of social networking functionality.
