Josh Trank Takes On Shadow Of The Colossus Film

Josh Trank Takes On Shadow Of The Colossus Film

None

According to Deadline New York, Josh Trank, the guy who turned Chronicle into a moneymaking machine, has now been signed with Sony Pictures to help develop a movie adaptation of shadow of the Colossus.

Oddly enough, Shadow of the Colossus was kind of a minimalist game, with little talking and a large focus on exploration and battle with gigantic creatures far larger than yourself. Still, regardless of the game’s minimalist approach, Sony thinks that it has blockbuster movie potential. The film is being produced by Kevin Misher, and potential script writers are currently being interviewed.

Can Trank turn this cult classic video game into Hollywood gold? Well, considering he already has his hands full with an upcoming Fantastic Four title, a Venom spinoff for the Spider-Man IP, and the upcoming WB adaptation of Red Star , he certainly has his work cut out for him. Then again, his products certainly do show his geek pedigree, so the movie may be in good hands after all.
