Konami Is Developing A New Metal Gear Series

Konami Is Developing A New Metal Gear Series

Earlier today, IGN reported on a story confirming that Konami has already started hiring new developers to work on a brand new Metal Gear series. This discovery came about through a Konami job listing post link on NeoGAF . The studio has also maintained its stance that Kojima will still be a part of future Metal Gear games, but it is currently unclear how he will be involved in that process.

Both Konami and Kojima made headlines yesterday when both sides had a falling out and it was reported that Phantom Pain would be the Metal Gear Solid creator’s last game for Konami. It is currently unclear how this will impact both the franchise and several other projects that Kojima was involved with.

As I mentioned yesterday, Kojima is the heart and soul of the Metal Gear Solid series and without him I think people will walk away. This is a harsh lesson that Konami will learn firsthand if they try to make the next game in the series without his involvement.

Are any of you excited to hear that a new Metal Gear series is in development? Please feel free to let us know your thoughts on the matter and more in the comments section below.
