LA Noire is Good for Business

LA Noire is Good for Business

None

2K has had some pretty solid hits in the past few years. Games like Grand Theft Auto IV, Bioshock, and even Carnival Games set records both in terms of sales and of review scores. So you would think that every time one of these blockbuster games is released, the stock price for 2K would soar. However, that just hasn’t been so. That is, not until now.

L.A. Noire is making some serious waves in the gaming world, (its Metacritic score is currently sitting at 90, making it the third-highest rated game of the year after Portal 2 and MLB 11: The Show) and the business world has taken notice. 2K’s stock price rose $2.10 yesterday, gaining almost 13% over its starting price of $17.10. For those of you keeping track, that is the highest the stock price has been since rumors of an EA takeover swirled several years ago.

Business analysts are expecting the stock price to rise even further after initial sales numbers are released, so if you are in an investing mood, now might not be a bad time to check out 2K. And you can thank a period crime game for that.
