The Senate Judiciary C Committee in Louisiana gave unanimous support to a bill that would prohibit the sale or gift of a sexually suggestive video game to any person under eighteen. The bill does not include games that feature violence, due to a request from the Entertainment Software Association.
The measure exempts parents, spouses, or guardians who may purchase a game with sexual content for a minor.
Anyone convicted of giving or selling a sexually themed game to a minor will be fined no less than $100 and no more than $2,000, jailed for up to a year or both.
