An observant Madden 17 fan named Eloy and Kotaku have discovered a rather embarrassing mistake in the latest entry in the series. Think for a moment, where does the sun set? Is it in the east or west? The correct answer is the west, unless you’re in Madden 17’ s Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for an evening game.
It turns out there’s quite a glitch in Madden 17 . Eloy submitted the screenshot above, showing the sun setting in the east over the edge of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. What a whoops, right?
Kotaku contacted EA, which unfortunately probably won’t be able to fix Madden 17’ s wayward sun. Instead, a spokesperson said, “Our art team is investigating the issue, and working on correcting it for future editions of Madden NFL . In the meantime, we hope players enjoy this sneak peek into what the world might look like if the Earth rotated in the opposite direction.” That’s a rather positive way to approach things.
All I can say is, good eyes, Eloy! It seems like a really obvious thing, but nobody really caught this Madden 17 mistake until now. I guess we were too preoccupied with other parts of the game.
