Marcus Fenix Collection Is Currently Not In Development

Earlier today, Black Tusk Studios Manager Rod Fergusson confirmed over Twitter that there are currently no plans to develop a Marcus Fenix Collection based off of the first three games in the popular Gears of War series. He added that while he has a great deal passion for these titles, all of his focus is now on the next game in the franchise and several other Gears related projects.

Black Tusk Studios has been working on the next game in the series ever since Microsoft acquired the rights to the franchise early last year. Fergusson revealed that there will be plenty of news and updates on this title and more at Microsoft’s E3 2015 media briefing this June.

I applaud Fergusson and his team for focusing on the future of the series rather than the past. As we have seen firsthand with 343 Industries and their Master Chief Collection launch debacle, sometimes taking on an ambitious project like this can do more harm than good. By staying committed to one specific project, the team can work harder towards making the next game in the series as memorable as the others.

Are any of disappointed that we won’t have a Marcus Fenix Collection? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
