Mario Kart Wii Firmly Dated

None

Mario Kart Wii will launch in the United States on April 27, 2008. Between Kart and GTA IV, I might not leave the house this May. The game comes packed with the Wii Wheel attachment and will add an additional channel to your dashboard. According to the Nintendo press release, “The Mario Kart Wii Channel…builds on the huge online community of Wii owners and lets players compete in tournaments, check worldwide rankings, see when their friends are playing and download ghost data.”

The motion controls are meant to be intuitive so that novices can challenge seasoned pros. Fortunately, there will be several different control schemes so that everyone can fully enjoy the title. This Kart will also support online play via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. In online multiplayer, players can compete with up to 11 other players. Additionally, Mario Kart Wii will include 16 new courses in addition to 16 remade classic courses.

To vary gameplay even more, Kart fans can choose between either karts or motorbikes. As expected, players will be able to import their Miis in addition to the Nintendo characters found in the game. Also, this time around there will be a total of ten battle arenas. We’re not sure if Shine Thief made the cut from Double Dash, but we can only hope the Bomb and Balloon Battles did.
