BioWare revealed today the system requirements and recommended settings for playing Mass Effect 2 on PC – as you can imagine, they’re pretty hefty. Additionally, rather than requiring PC owners to authenticate their copy via a strict online DRM, if you pick up the boxed retail version, you will be able to simply enter a key code and be subject to a disc check. Press Release: Digital Rights Management (DRM) – The boxed/retail PC version of Mass Effect 2 will use only a basic disk check and it will not require online authentication. This is the same method as Dragon Age: Origins. Digital versions will use the retailers’ protection system. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required. Intel and S3 video cards are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2.
