Mega Man X Legacy Collection Input Latency Tested

Mega Man X Legacy Collection Input Latency Tested

Not long after release, fans discovered that Mega Man X Legacy Collection had some latency issues, but only the PlayStation 4 version was comprehensively tested. Now, using Mega Man X as the constant, all versions of the collection have been tested.

The testing, which was performed by YouTuber Button2Pixel, is pretty dang comprehensive. The comparison was made with the original SNES version, the SNES Classic version, the 3DS version, the older collection from the PS2 era, and of course every version of the new collection. This includes docked/undocked for the Switch, the PC version with V-Sync disabled, and other settings, such as different controllers for the Switch.

At the end of the day, the Xbox One version of Mega Man X Legacy Collection came out as the “winner,” with overall better performance compared to the other consoles. The PC version does a bit better than that, and the PS4 version features the worst performance in this regard. Of course, every previous release of these games on other hardware features much less input latency in general.
