Mercenary Ops Brings Third-Person Shooting To PCs

Yesterday, Kaelands Publishing announced Mercenary Ops, a brand new PC-exclusive third-person shooter set to come out this summer.

Mercenary Ops combines elements from several popular third-person shooters, with competitive elements of classic online titles such as Counter-Strike. The game uses active reload and destructible cover systems, while still asking you to aim in old school shooter style. The game will feature multiple missions, online co-op and competitive gameplay, and RPG elements that will allow you to earn weapon and equipment upgrades.

“In a third-person shooter, the online multiplayer aspect of the game always seems to be an after-thought to the single-player experience,” Mercenary Ops Producer Jason Sharp said in a press release issued yesterday. “Because of this, we decided to concentrate on creating an entirely different online experience by looking at every facet of game design from that perspective. This decision resulted in a unique style of play that enhanced traditional tactical combat by requiring players to have a quicker, more aggressive attitude.”

Mercenary Ops will launch exclusively for PC this summer.
