Metroid Dread doesn’t have any known cheat codes.
Nintendo and MercurySteam teamed up to develop Metroid Dread, an action-adventure game for the Nintendo Switch. It was released on Oct. 8, 2021. In this game, players control bounty hunter Samus Aran as she investigates a mysterious transmission on ZDR. This follows the events of Metroid Fusion. It retains the classic 2D side-scrolling gameplay and uses stealth elements.
Metroid producer Yoshio Sakamoto originally conceived Dread for the Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s but had to halt development due to technical limitations. After fans expressed a desire for a new 2D Metroid game, Sakamoto appointed MercurySteam to develop Dread. Nintendo officially announced the game at E3 2021.
Metroid Dread received widespread critical acclaim and was hailed as one of the top games of 2021. It secured three Game Awards nominations and won Best Action/Adventure Game. The game quickly became the fastest-selling Metroid title in Japan, the UK, and the US. With over three million copies sold, it has become the best-selling Metroid game.
Metroid Dread Premise
Metroid Dread‘s premise is mysterious and creepy. The Galactic Federation dispatches seven EMMI robots to investigate the X parasite on the planet ZDR, but they lose communication. They send Samus Aran to uncover the situation. Underground, she confronts a Chozo warrior who disables her suit and initiates a battle. She escapes, faces reprogrammed EMMI robots, and absorbs energy, regaining some abilities.
In Ferenia, another EMMI captures her but is deactivated by a Chozo named Quiet Robe, who reveals a sinister past involving Chozo tribes and Raven Beak’s ambitions. An assassin kills Quiet Robe, and the ship’s AI, Adam, urges Samus to defeat Raven Beak and eliminate ZDR. On the surface, she battles the last EMMI and gains Metroid powers, but her transformation begins. In the floating fortress of Itorash, Raven Beak’s reavels their true identity, and Samus battles him, ultimately using her newfound abilities to defeat him. As ZDR self-destructs, Samus’s Metroid powers pose a challenge, but the X-possessed Quiet Robe aids her in neutralizing them, enabling her escape before the planet’s destruction.

Does 100% Metroid Dread do anything?
In Metroid Dread, achieving 100% completion doesn’t unlock in-game items or power-ups but rather provides players with a collection of artworks in the game’s gallery. These artworks can be appreciated for their aesthetic value, as a visual tribute to the game’s environments and characters.
The Chozo Archives section of the gallery, which contains the first eight artworks, is unlocked by collecting all the items in each of the game’s eight areas. This includes Energy Tanks, Missile Tanks, and other collectibles, with each artwork associated with a specific location. Upon reaching 100% completion by obtaining all collectibles on every map, players unlock the ninth and final Chozo Archive.
There are seven total Ending Reward artworks. The first three can be obtained by completing the game on Normal Mode, finishing Normal Mode in under eight hours, and achieving a completion time of under four hours on Normal Mode. The next three follow the same pattern but on Metroid Dread‘s Hard Mode.
