MGS HD Vita Date And Price Leaked?

MGS HD Vita Date And Price Leaked?

None

GameStop has proven a fairly reliable source for game release dates and prices, often receiving that information ahead of the press and, without fanfare, posting it for the world to see.

The latest such potential leak is for the Vita version of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, which houses visually updated versions of three of Kojima’s seminal Metal Gear Solid games. According to GameStop’s website, the collection will be out on June 5 and cost $39.99, which is the same price at which the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game currently retail.

Though this is far from confirmation, seeing as GameStop sometimes posts what they consider highly anticipated titles early with bogus release dates to collect pre-orders as soon as they can, the specificity of this date (on a Tuesday, as well as being neither the first, last, or middle day of the month) lends it some weight.

Further, Kojima hasn’t confirmed Cross-Play between the Vita and PS3 versions of the game, but he has expressed a desire to take the “transfarring” of Peace Walker a step farther with the Vita/PS3 cloud connection. If Cross-Play makes the cut, it’s possible that PS3 owners of the collection will be able to get the Vita title at a discount (as Sony has done with its own MLB 12: The Show, which is $20 on the Vita if one purchases it alongside the PS3 edition).
