Microsoft May Be Working on a New Battletoads?

Microsoft’s Phil Spencer had a few things to say at Microsoft’s recent Windows 10 event. But instead of analyzing his words, let’s analyze his clothing!

He stepped up on stage wearing a t-shirt featuring the Battletoads icon. He never mentioned Battletoads once during the presentation but when asked if the t-shirt was a tease for a new Battletoads game, Spencer said “I don’t think I’ve ever worn a t-shirt that’s been a complete head-fake. I wouldn’t do that.”

Fans have been speculating for a while that Microsoft is working on a new Battletoads title. Battletoads was originally made by Rare, and Microsoft acquired Rare in 2002. In 2014, Microsoft renewed the Battletoads trademark, though they still haven’t announced that they are doing anything with it. We can only hope that we will see these ultra hard amphibians make a comeback sometime soon.
