Mojang Interesting In Bringing Minecraft To The PlayStation 3

Minecraft is one of the best-selling and most popular games on the Xbox 360 right now. So why hasn’t it come to the PlayStation 3? It would probably be a big hit on the PS3 and an even bigger hit for the Vita. I would certainly like to build a giant replica of Danny Glover during my daily commute.

Well it turns out that Mojang currently has an exclusivity contract with Microsoft, so Playstation users are out of luck, but not forever. Mojang’s Jens Bergensten, lead designer of Minecraft Pocket Edition, told iGamer that they will consider bringing Minecraft to the PlayStation once the exclusivity deal runs out.

Unfortunately, it looks like Nintendo fans are completely out of luck as Bergensten said that a Wii U version is very unlikely. He didn’t state his reasons why, but we have heard reports that Nintendo’s WiiWare platform is notoriously hard to develop for. That, and it’s possible that Minecraft simply doesn’t have the hardcore fanbase to support itself on the Wii U.
