In a somewhat surprising announcement, publisher 505 Games has revealed that Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise, the sequel to 2010’s cuddly slasher, will be released on PSN and XBLA later this year. Panic in Paradise, like its predecessor, will see the titular teddy once again excluded from a party by the rest of the bears of Perfection Island. Naturally, players will try to sate Naughty Bear’s thirst for vengeance by murdering all who excluded him, now on Paradise Island. Plot-wise, things don’t seem to have changed much. On the gameplay front, though, 505 and developer Behaviour Interactive are touting a “completely over-hauled combat system,” a “brand new” leveling system, “equipment customization with thousands of combinations,” and “over 30 missions set across 11 distinct areas of Paradise Island.” “With Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise, we’re turning the naughty dial all the way up to 11!,” said David Osborne, Executive Creative Director at Behaviour. So, there’s that.
505 appears to at least recognize some of those criticisms, though, so here’s to hoping they tighten things up a bit when Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise drops later this year. By Jeff Dunn |
