NBA Street Vol. 2 Cheats & Cheat Codes for PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox

NBA Street Vol. 2 is a basketball game developed by NuFX and EA Canada and published under the EA Sports label. Released in 2003 for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox, this is the sequel to the original NBA Street and a fan-favorite in the series. With a cultural backdrop to the street games, NBA Street Vol. 2 became popular among players looking for a different type of gameplay from other massively successful NBA games. Here’s a look at what type of game NBA Street Vol. 2 is, along with available cheats, tips, and secrets.

Premise

NBA Street Vol. 2 involves a different type of approach to basketball games with its street-basketball theme in which players compete in fast-paced 3-on-3 matches. There are 29 fully playable NBA teams from the 2002–03 season, accessible in all modes once unlocked. The game includes four different modes, each providing different gameplay: Pick Up Game, NBA Challenge, Be a Legend, and Street School. The game features trick moves, dunks, and more. It thrives on creativity, requiring skill and strategy to win.

While the rosters are from the 2002-03 season, the game goes beyond that. In addition to the regular teams, the game also has historic basketball stars. The legends include figures like Larry Bird, Julius Erving, and multiple incarnations of Michael Jordan. Players can win games to earn reward points, using them to purchase various perks like new players, jerseys, and courts. The game is also a cultural powerhouse with an impressive in-game soundtrack featuring artists such as Nate Dogg, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, MC Lyte, and Nelly.

NBA Street Vol. 2 Characters

NBA Street Vol. 2 features all the stars from the NBA season 2002-03, but in addition to those, there are legendary characters from years past NBA. Additionally, there are some other familiar faces and fictional characters, that have found their way to the game. Here are some of the more popular people and characters found on NBA Street Vol. 2.

  • Michael Jordan: Arguably the most iconic player in basketball history. Michael Jordan needs no introduction whether you are an old-school baller or a new fan of the sport. The game features three versions of Jordan, each representing a different stage in his career: the 1985 Chicago Bulls Jordan, the 1996 Chicago Bulls Jordan, and the Washington Wizards Jordan.
  • Larry Bird: A true NBA legend, Larry Bird, is a top pick among players. His exceptional shooting ability from behind the three-point line is a crucial asset in games. This Celtics superstar was known for not only hitting the shots but smack-talking, too.
  • Julius Erving: Known for his stylish and high-flying play, Dr. J brings a lot of flair to the game. He is one of the most legendary NBA players of all time with an impressive dunking game and trick moves galore.
  • Stretch: Stretch is the mentor in the Street School mode. This fictional character is known from the previous iteration of the game, and he has the skills to compete with the best. He’s considered a street legend in the game and for a good reason.
  • Nelly: Not necessarily known for his basketball skills, but for rapping chops instead. In addition to the game featuring his music, this special addition to NBA Street Vol. 2 includes his whole St. Lunatics team as playable characters.

FAQ

Is LeBron in NBA Street Vol 2?

The game, released in 2003, features only players from the 2002-03 season and legends from previous NBA seasons. Therefore, it doesn’t include LeBron James, despite his prominence in later NBA titles. LeBron James entered the NBA through the 2003 draft and played his first season in 2003-04.
