Need for Speed Gets SpeedLists and Prestige Events

Need for Speed Gets SpeedLists and Prestige Events

Get ready to race, because Need for Speed has new stuff to enjoy. An April 27 update is going to bring more multiplayer and solo activities to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC game. A lot of it is stuff those of us who’ve beaten the game can enjoy, which is great since most of us have probably already finished it.

Two of the new features are Prestige Mode and Activities. Prestige Mode is for people who’ve beaten the game. You can go through Build, Crew, Outlaw, Speed, and Style events that are more challenging than usual ones. You can also enjoy Drift Corner and Speed Run activities in certain areas, trying to drift around corners or speed through a Speed Run as quickly as possible.

There are also multiplayer SpeedLists for the Quick Play, Mixed, Speed, and Style modes. They’re predetermined events that give you points for winning. You can earn titles based on your performance, with only one person in the world getting the World Champion title. (Don’t worry – we’ll still love you if you only end up earning Top 10, Top 100, or The 1%!)

The last two Need for Speed updates correspond to rewards. When you complete a Daily Challenge now, you receive one of 150 decals as a reward, instead of having to complete three Daily Challenges to get one decal. Also, the Basic Bronze, Gold Plated, and Speed Master trophies and achievements will be given out to everyone who wins all the Prestige events, gets Gold on every Prestige event, and wins every event in a SpeedList.

It’s a lot of new stuff for a game that’s going to be a year old!
