Netflix has had some success introducing a form of media that’s been around for a while, but has never really busted out of the cult classic stage. Choose-your-own-adventures got their start in book form, and I can remember vastly enjoy the feeling of interaction when I was a kid. Netflix has taken this further for just that audience, children. Choose-your-own-adventure shows on Netflix have included Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile , and Puss in Boots: Trapped in an Epic Tale , among many others. Puss in Boots actually featured up to 13 choices for viewers.
The children’s choose-your-own-adventure shows have done so well on Netflix that they’re now looking to create one for adults. There’s no indicationas to what exactly Netflix plans to make into a choose-your-own-adventure video, though it may feature an existing franchise as a way to draw people in. Imagine taking control of who Negan kills off in The Walking Dead . It’s highly improbable that Walking Dead will ever get the choose-your-own-adventure treatment, but how wild would that be?
Hopefully Netflix has an announcement on the horizon as to what we can expect from the adult choose-your-own-adventure project. For now, how do you feel about this format coming to the popular video streaming service?
