New Details Surrounding Punch-Out!! for Wii Surface

None

Nintendo of Europe teased a few details concerning their upcoming boxing title PunchOut!! currently being developed by Next Level Games.

For starters, players will be able to play in a two-player mode that pits Mac against Mac locally via split-screen.  No word on online capabilities have been revealed, however.

Additionally, a total of 13 fighters, many of which are simply updated characters of old, will be featured in the title.  Doc Louis will also make his way back into the game as Little Mac’s cornerman.

Finally, Punch-Out!! will be able to be controlled by turning the Wii Remote on its side (we assume a Classic Controller setup will also work), or players can go for simple motion-based controls by waggling the remote and modifying the punch selection by pressing the facebuttons or using the Nunchuk’s analog stick.

Despite the sharp new look, it appears that Punch-Out!! for Wii will be decidedly similar to the original title offered via Nintendo’s Virtual Console.
