I love Hot Shots Golf . Ever since the new Hot Shots Golf (or Everybody’s Golf in Japan) trailer was revealed last year, I’ve been on the edge of my seat waiting for more details. This will be the first entry in the series this generation, and I feel like I’ve been waiting forever. Judging by the feedback to the article, it seems like many of you have been impatiently awaiting any kind of news or release date for the North American version of the game, which represents the first HSG entry this generation.
Yesterday, Sony kicked off the Tokyo Game Show with its annual presentation, and Hot Shots Golf did show up – just not the way I wanted it to. We were treated to a great new trailer showing off the game and all of its new features: enhanced visuals, “open-world” gameplay, online features, fishing, and a little golf, of course. Everything looks great except for the release date. All we were given was “Summer 2017” for the Japanese version, which means that a North American version is likely still over a year away.
It’s really disappointing, as I was hoping for a holiday 2016 release. As long as they make it the best Hot Shots Golf to-date I’ll be happy, but damn if the wait isn’t hard. You can check out the new trailer below:
